Wedding Trends I’m Loving Right Now

As a wedding planner, part of my job is staying on top of trends—but let’s be honest, I get so excited when couples are bold enough to bring these ideas to life. Lately, I’ve seen a shift toward weddings that are a little moodier, a little more editorial, and all about expressing personal style. If you’re planning a 2025 wedding, here are some of the trends I’m absolutely loving right now:

Lamps as Centerpieces

Florals will always have their place, but lately I’ve been loving the unexpected charm of lamps as centerpieces or scattered throughout the reception space. From vintage-inspired to sleek modern, adding a table lamp brings an entirely different kind of warmth and ambiance to the tablescape. It feels cozy and a little bit unexpected—in the best way.

What I love most is how lamps can completely transform a reception space. They create these beautiful pools of light that make everything feel more intimate and styled. Whether paired with bud vases and taper candles or standing alone as a statement piece, they add personality and depth to the overall design. Bonus: they photograph like a dream, especially with moody, flash-forward photography.

Curated Bridesmaid Looks

One of my favorite shifts in wedding fashion right now? Brides are treating their bridal party like an extension of their overall aesthetic—not just a checklist item. I am seeing a shift from traditional big box bridesmaid dresses and more brides curating looks from places like Revolve or Reformation to build a look that feels intentional and on-brand for the wedding day.

A trend I’m especially loving? Patterns! Brides are embracing texture and print in a big way. Instead of one solid color across the board, we’re seeing layered tones and coordinating patterns that feel elevated and cohesive without being too matchy-matchy. It adds movement to photos, depth to the overall design, and gives each bridesmaid a look that feels less “wedding uniform” and more like something they’d actually wear again. Think: fashion-forward, not filler.

The result? Your bridal party looks less “uniformed” and more like they stepped out of a styled shoot!

Statement Cakes

Minimalism has had its moment, but now it’s all about letting the cake be part of the design story. I’m seeing more sculptural tiers, hand-painted elements, unexpected textures (hello, pleats and bas-relief!), and bold color accents. A cake should be more than dessert—it should be a centerpiece.

Ceremony in the Round

There’s something so intimate and beautiful about surrounding the couple with guests. Ceremony in the round brings a sense of inclusion and connection—and makes for stunning photos from every angle. It also gives planners like me more room to play with florals and layout.

Unique Entertainment Moments

Whether it’s a vintage champagne tower, live painter, or mid-dance floor outfit change, couples are finding ways to entertain their guests in unexpected ways. One of my favorites lately? A live saxophone player who jumps in with the DJ and turns the dance floor into an absolute party.

Color-Forward Florals

All-white will always be classic, but bold is back. Bright blooms, unexpected color combinations, and funky textures are making a huge splash. I love building arrangements that feel more like curated art pieces than traditional bouquets.

Late Night Snack Drops

Because dancing burns calories and no one’s mad about fries or mini tacos hitting the floor around 10 p.m. Bonus points if it’s a nod to your favorite local spot or something nostalgic.

Moody Lighting & Candles Everywhere

We’re leaning way into ambiance. Think warm uplighting, candles lining the aisle, and tables glowing with votives and taper candles. It’s romantic, moody, and totally transforms a space—even outdoors.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re planning a black-tie affair or a laid-back celebration under the stars, incorporating one or two of these trends can bring a fresh, personalized touch to your wedding. My goal as a planner is to take these ideas and tailor them to reflect you—your style, your story, and your vibe.
