Once you know when to send your wedding invitations, the next step is figuring out what to include. A well-organized wedding invitation suite gives your guests all the info they need—and it sets the tone for your wedding day. Here is a breakdown of what you should consider including in your wedding invitation suite:

1. The Invitation

This is the star of the show! It includes:

  • The names of the couple (traditionally, the host’s names go first)

  • The date and time of the ceremony

  • The venue name and address

  • Optional: Dress code or reception details if it’s in the same location

2. RSVP Card (Mail-Back or Website Reply)

Your RSVP is how guests officially let you know whether they’ll be attending—and there are two main ways to gather responses: mail-back or online RSVP via your wedding website. Each comes with its own components:

Mail-Back RSVP Cards

This is the traditional option and a great fit for more formal weddings or guests who may not be as tech-savvy. Include:

  • A response deadline (typically 3–4 weeks before the wedding)

  • Space for guests to write their name(s)

  • Options to accept or decline

  • Menu selections (if needed)

  • A pre-addressed and stamped return envelope

Pro tip: Be sure to account for the extra postage! This adds up quickly!

Website RSVP (Online Reply)

This modern option is convenient, and more economical (no extra postage to pay for!). You’ll still include a small RSVP insert card, but instead of a form to fill out, it will include:

  • A note directing guests to your wedding website

  • A clear RSVP deadline

  • Your custom website URL

Pro Tip: Upgrade your wedding website URL to something clean and easy to remember—like your last name or a simple phrase (e.g., smithwedding.com or jakeandemma2025.com). Not only does it make your RSVP card look more polished, but it’s also easier for guests to type in or remember.

3. Details or Info Card

This optional but highly recommended card can include:

  • Reception location (if different from the ceremony)

  • Dress code

  • Travel or hotel accommodations

  • Transportation details

  • Weekend itinerary if you’re hosting multiple events

5. Optional Extras

  • Map or direction cards

  • Rehearsal dinner invite (if only inviting select guests)

  • Registry info (typically on your website, not directly on the invitation)

A Well-Crafted Suite = Less Confusion and More Excitement

Your wedding invitation suite is more than just paper—it’s a preview of your day. It can be modern, classic, bold, or totally unique to you. Whatever your style, make sure it’s informative, beautiful, and easy to understand.
